I thought I'd share with you a wonderful website from Tiffany, "Cute foods for kids". (direct link at the bottom)
I came across this website a while back and has been my go to website for kids snacks since then.
She offers lots of great ideals for meals and snacks for children, you should definitely take a peek. :)
We all know that Snack time can be a important time for children. For my child it is a crucial part of her healthy diet, she can be
quite the picky eater and snacking is a prefect way to ensure that she gets all the nutriments she needs on a daily basis.
Here is a few tips on getting your little one to eat the "good food" during snack time.
First off, lets make it a routine, everyday around the same time of the day make it official, it's SNACK TIME!!!
Try to keep snack time at least a couple of hours before a meal.
Children often gets TIRED of sitting at the table EATING dinner or supper. That's why the snacks plays a huge part in the kids healthy diet.
Make it fun, snack time should be fun time. If you want your children to eat well, don't force them to do so.
Variety is the KEY.
Let's say your little one is not a big fan of veggies, How about trying to shape your veggies into different shapes? How about some dip?? ( Here is an easy one that most children LOVE, mixing mayo and sugar ) Yes you heard me, adding sugar to mayo makes a wonderful salad dressing ( I use it as a dip ) with a SWEET taste to it.
Veggie juice? It is a great way to get veggies into your children diet, they wont even notice a difference ;)
Try new things. How about a Dragon fruit?? sounds strange and looks weird but it is a GREAT fruit fairly easy to get your hands on and tastes GREAT!
Don't be scared to bring new foods to the table, this may be a challenge for you as well :)
FINGER foods are great, children often like them. Mix a variety of finger food into one plate and let them choose :).
